EID-UL-FITR also known as the RAMADAN-EID is celebrated on the 1st of SHAWWAL (Muslim calendar month) all over the world. Muslims fast during the whole month of the holy RAMDAN and celebrate EID on the 1st of SHWWAL. Muslim men and boys have a ghusl (holy bath) and dress up in kurta and pyjama (traditional dress) and go to their holy MOSQUES early in the morning and pray the EID NAMAAZ. The family members go to their relative’s house to wish and celebrate EID. SHEER-KHURMA and BIRAYNI are the two most common and special dishes that served. The house is cleaned up and is mainly decorated with light.

During EID relatives visit each other, people wear new clothes as a mark of celebration. Children receive EIDI (money) from elder. Most commonly the festivals are open to other people, it is done by giving other people food or money
What values are shown by this festival? ANSWER-: The month of Ramadan gives believers an opportunity to perfect one’s inner self and character. Patience, generosity, kindness and feeding or assisting others have been tested and tried in the HOLY month. If passed, gratitude must be shown to the lord for the ability to be guided towards personal growth. Therefore, in the month of RAMADAN, the emphasis of completing good deeds, while observing fasts, id rewarded even more so in this month than in any other month of the year. In India every religion respects each other, on one side of the road you can see Muslims praying NAMAAZ, and on the hand HINDUS going with GANESHA (Hindu god). No religion stands against each other

How do schools take part in festivals in your town? ANSWER-; Our school celebrated EID by making kheer (dish) in school. Some boys under the guidance of our teachers did this beautiful act.

-Every home is lit with Dias , leaving no room for darkness to enter, and doorsteps are decorated to welcome guests. The sweets are Diya-shaped sugar-coated cookies decorated with icing and snacks including mini-samosas and purees. The festival brings together close relatives. Whole house is decorated with, Dias, lanterns, colorful lights and rangolis.

-People wear new clothes to thank Lakshmi (Goddess) for providing prosperity and good fortune, Hinduism is the target group they celebrate Diwali with full zest.The festival is celebrated by all, irrespective of any religion. Other groups /cultures/ethnic minorities willfully participate along with their Hindu friends forgetting the religious barriers.

-Diwali is one such festival which is celebrated by one and all. We participate in all the festivals with equal enthusiasm and celebrate along with the target group . E. The school organises parties on the eve of Diwali with music and Diwali goodies to be enjoyed by the students .the charity work is carried out by distributing gifts to the children

Ans . Navratri is also known as Durga Pooja . It is a festival of 9 days. It is a festival of our Gujarati brothers and sisters. But people from all parts of the country celebrate this festival. During this period Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati are worshiped as 3 different manifestations of Shakti, or cosmic energy. Family members come together and prepare sweets for everyone, whoever comes at their home is offered special sweets. People bring small idols of goddesses to their home or a big idol is brought in a society. People come together and play garba . Garba is actually a pot which is full of different goodies. People decorate their houses my making rangoli and torans. Some people paint their houses to give it a new look.

Ans. In our group, the majority of members are of muslim religion. And I am a muslim too, so I like the festival of EID the most and I am sure the others too.

Ans. Our schools celebrate Navratri by keeping a garba competition and invites other school of girls as we are an only ‘BOYS’ school. Prizes are being kept for best dancer, best costume and best couple.
